Michelle Dong
Product designer based in New York, NY
Hello there!
I’m a systems-driven product designer focused on mobile UX and multimodal interaction. Currently, I’m focused on streamlining the Merlin Photo ID experience at the Cornell Lab of Ornithology. Previously, I shipped eBird track editing to improve data quality for the world's largest database of bird sightings and designed voice+touch customer sentiment collection patterns for Amazon Alexa.
In a past life, I was a biostatistics researcher; now I use product analytics and usability testing to inform design decisions at scale. I prioritize trust, accessibility, and clarity, especially in complex, data-driven products where the stakes are real.
Inspired by the natural world, public art, and the magic of making things by hand.
